Gaya: A delegation of the Bodh Gaya Temple Management Committee (BTMC) met CM Samrat Choudhary at the CM’s secretariat in Patna on Thursday and invited him to attend the Buddha Purnima celebrations scheduled for May 1 at the Mahabodhi Mahavihara.
As part of the traditional welcome, the delegation presented the CM with a khada (a pious Buddhist scarf) and mementoes, including a framed Bodhi leaf, a replica of Lord Buddha and select artworks.

According to a press release issued by the BTMC on Thursday evening, the CM accepted the invitation and agreed to attend the Buddha Purnima celebrations as the chief guest.
The delegation was led by BTMC member secretary Mahashweta Maharathi and included Mahavihara chief priest Bhikkhu Chalinda, caretaker monk Bhikkhu Dinanand, BTMC members Bhikkhu T Okonogi and Arvind Singh. They expressed gratitude to the CM, saying his presence would add prestige and significance to the sacred occasion.
